Iran Floods Disaster Relief April 2019
Recent severe floods in the south of Iran have devastated the city of Shiraz and villages in the southern states of Lorestan and Golestan. The floods have led to casualties, injuries and the displacement of many people. Large numbers of people are unable to access accommodation, food or clean water due to the floods.
Welfare Aid International is partnering with Rahpouyan Vesal Cultural Organisation. This is an independent NGO that has been providing humanitarian aid since 1995. They are on the ground providing emergency accommodation to displaced people. They are also working hard to repair damage to homes and streets to allow for re-housing of the affected people. They have also set up food kitchens and are distributing clean water.
We urge our donors to give generously to support people affected by this severe natural disaster.
